eMC – ‘Fly Thoughts’
Masta Ace and the rest of eMC have unleashed the first track from reunion album The Tonite Show. Its not as hard as the kind of ish we got on The Show, but the beat is still knocking.
SHIRT – ‘WOODWORK’
We don’t know too much yet about Queens rapper SHIRT, but WOODWORK is pretty impressive, and is assisted by a beat from DJ Shadow.
Big Shug – ‘The Reason’
Big Shug drops another track from new album Triple OGZus. The Reason features a beat from Gem Crates, and its another hard-as-nails stomper. We can’t shake the feeling though that a Big Shug track that isn’t produced by DJ Premier is always going to struggle to find much traction.
DJ Elwood – ‘The Best of El-P’ mix
The man officially known as Jamie Meline has achieved a lot since arriving on this planet some 40 years ago today. And to mark El-P’s birthday, DJ Elwood has given us all a gift; this incredible mix of classic beats, covering everything from those grimy Company Flow days, through the Def Jux era and right up to Run the Jewels. If this is what an El-P birthday sounds like, then we reckon he should definitely consider having another birthday next year.
Action Bronson – ‘Baby Blue’
The new week kicks off with yet more Action Bronson. This time we get another Mr Wonderful track, Baby Blue. It features Chance the Rapper, and the beat is by super-producer Mark Ronson. Listen below.
Blu & MED – ‘Bad Neighbor Tour’
Blu and MED have made some quality music together over the years, and this short but sweet mix, from Lootpack member DJ Romes, is a nice little tribute.
Planet Asia – ‘Write $$’
Cali legend Planet Asia has dropped more new music, this time a video for track Write $$. Filmed on location, look close for cameos by DJ Babu and others.
Action Bronson – ‘Actin Crazy’ video
Is there such a thing as too much Action Bronson? Fuck no. Here’s the latest bit of promo for Mr Wonderful: a video for Actin Crazy.
clipping – ‘Summertime’ feat. King Tee
The video for Summertime from clipping is one of the most creative visuals we’ve seen in a while. The joint also happens to feature King Tee, which is always a good thing.
